Which Time Are We Living In and Would We Remain Ourselves If We Traveled Through Time?
Dear friends, everyone has regrets; we all say things like, "If only I could go back x years, avoid making that mistake, and continue with my life..." But at this point, have we ever asked ourselves this question: "If I were to go back to the past and return, would I remain the same 'me', or would different situational possibilities emerge that I could never alter?" In other words, if you went back to the past, didn't make that mistake, and continued your life without it, would that mistake-free scenario force you into committing an even bigger mistake? To me, the answer is clear and definitive: "Yes, you absolutely and positively would have made an even bigger mistake." In my view, there is no possibility of it happening any other way.
I have concrete grounds for reaching this conclusion. As I have explained in detail in my previous blog posts, humans think and make decisions with their hearts rather than their brains. If we liken the brain to a computer's hard drive, the heart functions as the processing unit connected to that hard drive. Furthermore, as you can find in my earlier writings, our soul from the Covenant of Alast (Elest bezmi) and the ego/desire (nafs) assigned to each of us as a test are connected to our heart. However, the rule of our ego is limited to the worldly realm, whereas our soul will accompany us in both this life and the afterlife. Therefore, if we were to create a model, all tangible and intangible matter around us is what our ego shows us. Based on this perspective, we can say that our perception of time is entirely a trap set by our ego.
If one looks at life attentively, it becomes apparent that the concept we call life consists merely of a beginning and an end. That is to say, for those who live relatively shorter lives, these beginning and ending nodes simply reach each other through a shorter path. Ultimately, the only reality is Almighty Allah, who established the order.
In short, what I am trying to convey is that Allah breathing His spirit into us humans and creating us superior to seven universes means granting us servants a ray of light from Himself—the sole reality. It means we possess the potential to reach the Highest Heaven (Jannat al-A'la) by following this light. Allah has not bestowed such a grand status upon any creature other than humanity. If a human evaluates this opportunity correctly, they will go to the Highest Heaven. The fact that Hell is described as such a dreadful place in the Quran is the most deserved punishment for rebels who refuse to make use of this beautiful opportunity.
